Linda Sorrells-Smith, BFA
Since relocating to Buffalo eight years ago, I’ve worked as a strategic creative design and marketing leader for Haley Marketing Group in Williamsville, NY. Upon joining the Board of Directors of the Analytical Psychology Society of Western NY in 2017, my goal was to help transform it’s social presence and accessibility in the community after its move from Franklin Street to Trinity. This included respecting the long local history of APSWNY while updating the organization’s name to refer more directly to C. G. Jung (Jung Center Buffalo), launching a new, more fluid and interactive website and offering a wider social media presence of our programs & events and library.
Having many prior years of experience working specifically with not-for-profits in Central Ohio, I approached with enthusiasm the task of updating Jung Center Buffalo’s communication methods with the community and assisting with the development of benefits offered to our members. Personally, I strive to be a holistic student of life and believe there is liberation from suffering as a result of self-study. Carl Jung’s teachings, based on his own decades of self-study, offer a wealth of explorations of deeper insight of self, alongside more grace and compassion, comparatively to other psychological approaches. I hope my work with the Jung Center Buffalo will offer opportunity for others to expand their study to the body of work left by Carl Jung, making the world a better place for everyone.
My Favorite Carl Jung Quote:
“Your visions will become clear only when you can look into your own heart. Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakes.”
